Battening down the hatches.......

It's been a wild and windy day today, but according to the weather forecast, that is as nothing compared to the raging gales which are gearing up to hit the south coast tonight.

We've been warned to anticipate winds of up to 85 mph!

Hopefully the roof will stay on, the shed won't end up in Kansas, and the squirrels won't dare venture out of the woods to cavort in our soffits.

We're planning to go down to the seafront tomorrow to view the huge waves...not TOO closely though.

I'm in tyneside and our torrential rain started half an hour ago and is now battering at the windows, so glad I am staying in tonight !those waves look spectacular but dont get too close to the edge!

Its pretty wild here too (south Midlands), but I've had to go out twice this evening in it. Safely home now, need to go decorate some full size cakes for tomorrow (yeah, I know it is late)

I might see you later - I love this weather, this morning's dog walk coincides with high tide, so I shall give Covehurst Bay a miss - but we might have a wander down to the prom instead - Alfie in particular loves the wind - he gets very excited.
