HOT stuff...........

Went to the launch party for a new independent website with news, event listings and features all about Hastings and St Leonards , Hastings Online Times (henceforth known as HOT) last night.

Sadly, despite the HOT team's best efforts, the online part of the endeavour isn't actually online yet, but that didn't quash the enthusiasm of all those who turned up to St Mary in the Castle, (another of Hastings' hidden gems, a building with a fascinating history, now operating as an Arts Centre.)

Hopefully the long-awaited online content will shortly be available so that HOT can capitalise on the surge of support and enthusiasm generated by last night's event.

It took so long to get back from London that we didn't bother - the trains were up the spout with engineering work and I had to go on the long route via Victoria - or catch a bus ( shudder) - I was annoyed to have missed it.

It was a good night. Just a shame that they couldn't unveil the website with at least something on it. Yesterday there was nothing at all, today there is least a holding paragraph or two. Shame too that the contact email address didn't work either...simple stuff to get right but if people were trying to get information on the launch event they were stymied.
Still it was a good turn out, and everyone seemed to have a good time.
Are you involved in a design capacity or just an interested well wisher?

ah - I'm just an observer, but I really should get more involved in stuff like this - now that I'm more involved at the college I probably will 'push the boat out' a bit.
The girl from Hastings handbook is the sister in law of a chap I work with.
