I wasn’t the slightest bit worried about this 30-Day Blogging Challenge but it turns out I’m in unexpectedly auspicious company and I feel as though I’ve turned up wearing the Emperor’s New Clothes.
In completely the wrong size.
I have discovered that my fellow 30 day bloggers include life coaches, motivational speakers, mental health counsellors, writers, deep thinkers, spiritualists (by which I mean deeply spiritual people, not mere delvers into the supernatural), marketing consultants, management gurus….. and I’ve only just scratched the surface.
I haven’t yet found anyone who actually makes things for a living, let alone teeny, tiny, wee miniature toys which are so delicate that no child under the age of 16 should be allowed anywhere near in case they inhale them.
No matter.
I'm using this challenge to make me really think about my blog. What it’s for and how to move forward. Last month, on my blog’s 8th birthday I bemoaned my recent lack of commitment and dedication. It’s a particularly sobering thought to realise that if I do manage to complete 30 consecutive blog posts this month, that will be almost half as many as wrote in the whole of 2014!
*hangs head in shame*
However, moving swiftly on……
The attentive blog reader will probably be thinking “ This navel gazing is all very well and I know she has a tendency to go off on tangents but what has ANY of this got to do with ninja training…..?”
Ah…. Impatient you are. Clear in time all will become.
As the reigning Queen of Procrastination I am adept at putting things off.
Often indefinitely.
Blog posts are a case in point. Some of my best ideas for blog posts happen during the night, mostly just before I drop off to sleep. They are usually such stonkingly good ideas that I am always ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that I will remember them in the morning. However, experience has taught me that I should reach for my notebook and jot down a few key words as an aide memoir.
*sigh*
If I put as much time and effort into actually DOING things as I do into putting them off I’d definitely be a productivity ninja, (d’you see what I did there?) so the other day, when one of the 99p Kindle Deals of the Day was THIS…..
......it was all I could do not to fall on my knees to thank the serendipity gods.
OK…. so I haven’t actually read it. Yet.
If I’m scrupulously honest I haven’t even downloaded it onto my Kindle…. but WHEN I do, and WHEN I’ve read it, I will almost certainly become a type of ninja.
It promises that using techniques including Ruthlessness, Mindfulness, Zen-like Calm and Stealth & Camouflage, I will get my inbox down to zero, make the most of my attention, beat procrastination and learn to work smarter, not harder.
All of which I am TOTALLY UP FOR.
In the meantime I’m going to practice my ninja moves.
*silent and stealthy*

Small dog should win "employee of the month" just for that ninja pose. Very impressive - especially as he blends into the rug.
This is making me laugh, cant wait for day 3
Hello fellow maker.
I love your blog and hope we can help each other through the next 28 (and counting,) days.
Thank you for reading my blog. It's all quite new to me and I'm still trying to find my feet.

Don't worry, you'll soon get the hang of it. Blogging is great fun and very cathartic ;)
